🌐 Accessibility and Translation — Making EdEHR Inclusive for Every Learner

September 8, 2025 · By EdEHR Team

Inclusive design has always been a core value of EdEHR.
In 2025, we’ve continued this commitment by expanding translation coverage, refining accessibility standards, and ensuring the platform supports every learner, in every setting.

🇨🇦 French Translation — Refined with Educator Collaboration

A sincere thank-you to the team at Laurentian University, who meticulously reviewed and refined thousands of text elements across the platform.
Their work ensures that our French translation is accurate, contextually appropriate for healthcare education, and consistent across all modules — from charting forms to system dialogs.

🇪🇸 Expanded Spanish Translation

EdEHR’s Spanish translation coverage has also grown significantly.
Programs in bilingual and Spanish-speaking regions can now deliver an authentic simulation experience, making the platform more inclusive for learners worldwide.

♿ WCAG AA Accessibility Improvements

We’ve implemented extensive WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility enhancements throughout EdEHR.
Menus, dialogs, forms, and the MAR interface have been refined for screen reader compatibility, improved contrast ratios, and full keyboard navigation support.
These improvements help ensure that all learners — regardless of ability — can access, navigate, and participate equally in simulation activities.

🌍 Accessibility by Design

Accessibility in EdEHR isn’t a one-time project — it’s built into our ongoing development process.
By testing across devices, assistive technologies, and input methods, we aim to keep EdEHR a model for inclusive digital learning in healthcare education.
