Introducing SimTiming® for Staged Simulation Data
June 16, 2024 · By EdEHR Team
Authentic simulation labs rely on an electronic documentation system to tell the patient story. With EdEHR and our new SimTiming® feature, faculty can stage the release of chart data so learners encounter evolving clinical situations exactly when you need them to.
Watch the SimTiming walk-through on YouTube to see how quickly you can schedule chart updates, vitals, and lab results.
Why timing matters
Simulations operate in two clocks—real time and pretend time. Pretend time is how you create urgency: an hour jumps ahead so lab results arrive, or the monitor fast-forwards to the next set of vitals. SimTiming keeps EdEHR synchronized with the scenario so:
- Learners document assessments and interventions at the right moment.
- Faculty can reveal new information in waves, matching the scenario plan.
- Debriefing is richer because every note, scan, and assessment is captured in the chart.
