# EdEHR > EdEHR is a Canadian SaaS platform providing a simulation electronic health record (EHR) and laboratory information system (LIS) for health sciences programs at colleges and universities. It integrates with institutional LMS platforms via LTI and is used by nursing, medical laboratory technology, pharmacy technology, respiratory therapy, health unit clerk, and allied health programs. Faculty access is free; student access is billed at $3 per active student per month (minimums apply). ## About EdEHR is built and maintained by EdEHR Technologies Inc., based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The platform is designed exclusively for health sciences education — not for hospital or clinical use. It provides a safe, repeatable simulation environment where students learn to chart, document, and reason clinically before entering real-world practice. EdEHR is sometimes referred to as an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) simulation platform. EHR and EMR are used interchangeably in educational contexts — EdEHR serves both use cases. A free demo instance is available for faculty and program leads to explore EdEHR before committing. A guided free pilot is also available for programs evaluating the platform for student use. EdEHR is trusted by Canadian post-secondary institutions including BCIT, Laurentian University, University of Victoria, University of PEI, College Boréal, NorQuest College, RRC Polytech, Camosun College, Selkirk College, College of the Rockies, Aurora College, and others. The platform supports English, French, and Spanish, making it suitable for francophone, bilingual, and Spanish-speaking programs across Canada and internationally. ## Key Features - Simulation EHR and EMR with realistic patient journeys and clinical documentation - Simulation LIS covering hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, microbiology, transfusion medicine, and accessioning - LMS integration via LTI — student enrollment and class lists sync automatically - Barcode medication administration with smartphone support - SimTiming® technology — stage the release of vitals, labs, and chart updates over time - Faculty tools for case study creation, in-chart feedback, and real-time student monitoring - Multi-disciplinary case studies supporting interprofessional learning - Multilingual interface (English, French, and Spanish) ## Pricing Faculty access is always free.
